Oblio, silenzio, assenza: il tempo che non c’è Oblivion, silence, absence: the time that is not

The Oblivion Time is the silent heart of existence. It is not a beat, nor a flow. It is a suspension. An incalculable pause between two breaths of reality. It is the instant when everything turns off, yet from which everything can resume.

In human thought, we are accustomed to imagining time as a continuous line, an arrow moving tirelessly in one direction. But what happens between one instant and the next? What is there between two frames of the world, if reality is truly a discretized sequence?

The Oblivion Time is precisely this: the invisible interval between two presents, a space-time-non-time where nothing can be observed, measured, or remembered. It represents structural absence, the ontological negation of becoming. A place where not even God, if He were made of time, could enter.

Il regno del non-essereThe realm of non-being

Oblivion is not forgetfulness. Oblivion, in this theory, is a fundamental condition of existence. It is the black background between two brushstrokes of light, the void between two quantum beats. It is the necessity of nothingness for something to appear. Without the Oblivion Time, every present would merge with the previous one, and there would be no change. It is in non-being that becoming finds the space to exist.

Il tempo che non c’è ma che fonda ogni cosaThe time that is not but that founds everything

The Oblivion Time is generative absence. Like a caesura between two words, it allows meaning to emerge. Like the silence between two sounds, it defines rhythm. Like the shadow between two flashes of lightning, it gives depth to light. In this sense, it is the time that is not, and for this very reason, it is the most real of all. We can say that ${\Theta}$ is not time as we understand it, but a necessary condition for its manifestation. It is an operational void, a neutral zone of reality in which every possibility is reset to allow for the emergence of a new configuration of the real.

Imagine a photographer taking a sequence of pictures of the world. Each shot is an instantaneous present. But between one shot and the next, while the camera resets, everything is silent. Nothing is recorded. No movement, no noise. Only an absence. A white space between two black words. Yet without that white space, the words would not exist. The Oblivion Time is this white space.
