Capitolo 2 Chapter 2

Il Tempo di Oblivion The Oblivion Time

“Between what is and what will be, there exists an invisible space where everything disappears: the oblivion time.”

Il tempo-non-tempo che separa ogni cosaThe time-non-time that separates everything

In every photograph, what is still seems eternal. But between one photograph and the next, in reality, there is something no one sees: a void of time, a gap between moments. It is not silence, nor a pause: it is something more radical. It is the absence of existence, a blind spot of the cosmos. That void has a name: Oblivion Time, and we represent it with the symbol ${\Theta}$.

The Oblivion Time is the invisible glue that holds the universe together, and at the same time, it is the hidden fracture that divides it into distinct sequences. It cannot be observed, because nothing happens during ${\Theta}$: nothing moves, no light propagates, no energy is accumulated. It is an active zero, a space-non-space, a time-non-time.

Oltre lo zero: la durata minima dell’assenzaBeyond zero: the minimum duration of absence

Affermiamo che: Until now, physics has focused on the quantization of space, energy, and matter. But time has almost always been treated as a continuous flow. With the introduction of Planck time, a physical lower limit to temporal measurability was recognized, but no one ever dared to transform this idea into an ontological paradigm. We, however, do. We assert that:

Time does not exist as a flow, but as a sequence. Each instant is separated from the next by an Oblivion Time.
It is the invisible rhythm of existence. It is what allows events to be distinct, the universe not to collapse into a single image, and reality to be dynamic yet quantized.

L’invisibilità strutturale del tempo di oblivionThe structural invisibility of oblivion time

Serve a mantenere separati i presenti istantanei. Serve a generare la freccia del tempo. Serve, infine, a non far collassare l’intero universo in un solo fotogramma eterno. Why don't we see ${\Theta}$? Because our brain, like a film projector, ignores what does not change. Our perception is built on the alternation between stimulus and variation. If nothing happens, the brain does not register it. And ${\Theta}$ is precisely this: the interval in which nothing happens, because nothing exists. It is like a missed beat in a musical sequence, or the space between the grains of sand in an hourglass: it exists, but you don't notice it. Yet it is fundamental. This invisibility is functional. It serves to keep the instantaneous presents separate. It serves to generate the arrow of time. It serves, finally, to prevent the entire universe from collapsing into a single eternal frame.

L'unità fondamentale della realtàThe fundamental unit of reality

With the symbol ${\Theta}$, we therefore denote the smallest conceivable temporal interval, not as a mathematical value, but as an ontological structure: a snapshot of the cosmos. A universal click, synchronous or asynchronous depending on the masses involved, but always present as the invisible metronome of existence. In the same way that space can be thought of as a fabric made of minimal units (e.g., the Planck length), time is now thought of as a stepped grid, where each step is separated from the next by a thin layer of nothingness. But this nothingness is real, it is constant, and it is everywhere.

Il tempo di oblivion è lo sfondo nascosto della realtàOblivion time is the hidden background of reality

Il tempo di oblivion diventa così: If we accept this idea, then all physical laws must be reformulated: because nothing happens continuously, but only in coherent jumps, marked by ${\Theta}$. Velocity is no longer a constant slope, but a series of jumps per unit of time. Energy, motion, even consciousness, must adapt to this quantized rhythm. The oblivion time thus becomes:

  • Un limite universale.A universal limit.
  • Una struttura invisibile ma necessaria. An invisible but necessary structure.
A unifying principle for relativity and quantum mechanics.
An epistemological boundary: we cannot see inside ${\Theta}$, but we can infer its effects.

ConclusioneConclusion

The oblivion time is the sacred space between things. It does not exist to be lived, but to make becoming possible. It is the silent beat of the cosmos, the interval between two lights, between two movements, between two thoughts. Everything that happens, happens between one ${\Theta}$ and another.
